What is inspiring the next Kehlani project? PLAYBOY: Much of your work has been created as you moved through personal heaviness. KEHLANI ON WHAT INSPIRES HER NEXT PROJECT I don’t feel pressure to create and release on the outside, I just love creating and releasing. If I’m not at the studio, I’m home, completely focused on my baby, and then she comes with me to the studio. Anybody who knows me knows that work is what I love to do. And I think I’m blessed to be able to make so much music. So when you fully understand that, the only pressure that you can apply is self-imposed. PLAYBOY: Do you feel pressure to constantly create and release music? KEHLANI ON FEELING PRESSURE TO RELEASE NEW MUSIC FROM HER FANS I should stop limiting myself to the word “R&B.” I guess I’ve also never revealed that I don’t consider myself an R&B artist.

And then I’m trying to really figure out how to navigate wanting to become a full spectrum doula, at the same time being an R&B singer-or a singer in general. The one I’m waiting for is closed for now until the spring. I guess that I’m currently looking for a doula certification program. KEHLANI: Something I’ve never revealed in an interview? Hmm. PLAYBOY: You’ve always been incredibly transparent, but what’s something you’ve never revealed in an interview? KEHLANI ON SOMETHING NEVER BEEN REVEALED BEFORE Playboy was kind enough to provide us some highlights of the interview below but be sure not to miss out on one word and go to to read the full conversation! It’s a great read for those just getting into Kehlani as well as those who’ve been following closely. This is one of the most enlightening interviews I’ve read on Kehlani and she as usual is an open book for this amazing and insightful conversation with Gerrick Kennedy who obviously has earned her trust as a journalist. The theme of the photoshoot and cover shows Kehlani exploring her masculine and feminine sides, photographed by Brianna Alysse. She was interviewed by music and culture writer and critic Gerrick Kennedy, who had interviewed Kehlani many times before. "To see the progression of where I've gone, to where I am today, I think they're both very, very supportive and they believe in me and all the choices I make in my own career, just like I do for them.Courtesy of Playboy, photographed by Brianna AlysseĪs she gears up for the release of her new collection of music, the soulful singer-songwriter proves that she always has something up her sleeve by opening up to Playboy about playing with gender, finding new joy in songwriting during a pandemic, what she does when she feels stuck creatively and how being a mom is the “sexiest thing ever.” "You have to remember I've been in this industry since I was 14 and I've been a curve model since I was 14," Hasselhoff claimed. My mum and my dad are always very supportive in everything that I have done," she said. "My dad is very supportive in the choices I make for my own career. While speaking with DailyMail about the shoot, Hayley noted that her 68-year-old dad and mom Pamela Bach both support her in all she does. Hasselhoff concluded her heartfelt post with some words of wisdom stating, "I can only hope this cover will allow women to know that they are loved, valued and desired just as they are - right here, right now." Hayley also talked about the advice she wishes she could've given her younger self, which would be that "you are worthy just as you are." I hope to inspire women to face their fears of the unknown and to lead a life of purpose in which your body does not define you." "With May being Mental Heath Awareness month, I feel empowered to be able to wake up and know that I get to live unapologetically myself. "My relationship with my body has always stemmed from my relationship with my mental wellbeing," she added.
